Rajavinte Makan is an epic one in the history of Mollywood films in the sense that through this film a new superstar was established in Mollywood. It was the film film which had given the tagline of superstar to Mohanlal and later as we all know he had gone on to becomes the biggest ever star and crowd puller Mollywood had ever witnessed.

And now he become the universal star from Mollywood and still he remains the best in crowd pulling capacity and in star value. He is the actor/star with most number of blockbuster and record breaking or record creating hits in Mollywood and his journey of that sort of creating records at box office had really begun from this mass entertainer directed by Thampi Kannamthanam. This character was initally offered Mammootty but he rejected to do it citing the reason that the director was not good enough.

But when the offer came to Mohanlal he accepted it with both hands and the history was born there and that film paved the way for Mohanlal to become the superstar of the. Rajeev’s story was developed into a screenplay by Dennis Joseph. The movie was produced by Sharon Pictures. It was distributed by Jubilee
Release and become the highest grosser of that year.

Music for the film is composed by S P Venkitesh and DOP was Jananan Vincent. The section of editing was handled by K Sankunni and the film got released on 17th july 1986.The film is one the class actions films ever made in Mollywood which tells the story of an underworld don named Vincent Gomas and Kerala’s Chief Minister Krishnadas. The film ends as a tragedy and that too in a heroic way with the death of the hero Vincent Gomas and that experiment was really a bold one in Mollywood and that really paid off as well.

Mohanlal’s each dialogue in the film were sensational and his style of subtle acting, stylized but easy movements and sparkling looks with the eye made that character an epic one. The main actors in the film apart from Mohanlal who played Vincent Gomas was Ratheesh who played N Krishnadas, Suresh Gopi as Kumar, Ambika as Nancy etc. The film had ran over 200 days all over kerala.
